$2.00/lb
Angel
Wing is a combination of muscovite mica, feldspar and quartz, and has a hardness that varies with the minerals,
mica is about 2 to 3, feldspar is 6 and quartz is 7.
These
Angel Wing specimens have beautiful shining colors in gold, reddish pink
and white, and come from the Royal Gorge area in Colorado.
The
Colorado miners who discovered these specimens gave this unique mineral
the name "Angel Wing", due to the way the mica appeared to spread out
like angels wings. The name
mica was derived from the Latin "micare" which means "to shine." Feldspar is derived from the German "feld," field, and
"spar," meaning a rock that does not contain
ore.
Metaphysically
speaking, mica is said to increase one's understanding and perception,
diminish anger, and to enhance one's reflective abilities. It can be used to help areas prone to earthquakes, relieve
insomnia and dehydration. Feldspar is known to help with finding lost
objects, self-awareness and using unusual methods of achieving goals. It is said to help with muscle and skin issues. White quartz is
known to bring good fortune, is a calming and soothing stone and is often
used for purification. It is said to benefit the immune system.

$3.00/lb
A
Thunder Egg is a nodule of volcanic material called rhyolite and a solid
center of agate. They are a result of bubbles in lava that later filled in with
silica and other minerals. The Colorado thunder eggs tend to have a moss or plume agate
center. The plume agate is the most rare, found in less than 1% of thunder
eggs mined.
Thunder
eggs look like ordinary round rocks on the outside, but slicing them in
half reveals intricate patterns and colors, which make them very valuable
in jewelry and other ornamental objects. These thunder eggs come from a site near Del Norte, Colorado.
The
name "thunder egg" comes from a Pacific Northwest Indian legend. Millions of years ago, two mountain peaks, Mt. Hood and Mt.
Jefferson, got mad at each other, rocks flew, fire and thunder roared. Afterwards the Indian people found these round rocks on the slopes,
and attributing these rocks to the Thunder-beings, called them Thunder
Eggs.
Metaphysically
speaking, thunder eggs are known to reduce anger and hostility, aid in
listening and to help with thinking and doing the "right thing."

$1.00/lb
Iron
pyrite is an iron sulfide, with a metallic
luster and brass-yellow color, and has a hardness of 6 to 6.5. It can form very well crystallized cubes, and is also found in massive,
radiating, grainy, encrusting, and nodular forms.
Pyrite
was polished by the Native Americans in the early times and used as
mirrors. These iron pyrite specimens have glittery gold colors in a dark
matrix and come from area near the Royal Gorge in Colorado.
The
name pyrite is from the Greek word "pura" meaning "fire" which is likely due to the sparks
that result when pyrite is struck against steel. Pyrite is commonly called "Fools Gold" because of its
similarity in color, shape, and location to gold, and that it fooled a lot
of people into thinking it really was gold.
Metaphysically
speaking, iron pyrite is known as a powerful protection stone, it is very
grounding, and can help reduce physical danger. It is symbolic of the sun, fire energy and helps with male issues. It is said to help overcome fears, purify the body, ease fever and
inflammation, and treat viral, fungal, blood and respiratory issues.
