Here you will find rough rocks from around the World! 


Most of our rough rock is used in landscaping, fountains, aquariums, waterfalls, rock gardens and other landscaping projects, and for the metaphysical properties.   We also offer rough rock that is often used for ornamental purposes such as carvings, bookends, spheres, in jewelry, and is great rough for cabbing.

Unless otherwise noted, all rough rock is priced per pound and the image is representative of the material on hand.

White Quartz

The white variety of quartz, also called milky or snow quartz, gets its color by tiny fluid inclusions of gas or liquid trapped during the crystal formation.  It is a silicon dioxide and has a hardness of 7.

This white quartz is from India.

The name "quartz" comes from the German "Quarz", other sources also say the name is from the Saxon word "Querkluftertz" meaning "cross-vein ore."  White quartz was once used for tool-making, in ceremony and is frequently found placed around stone circles and grave sites. 

Metaphysically speaking, quartz is an amplifier and known as "the stone of power."  It is said to be a master healer, stimulating the immune system and balancing the body.  White quartz in particular, brings good fortune, is a calming and soothing stone and is often used for purification. It is known to be beneficial for the immune system.

Yellow Serpentine

Yellow Serpentine is a hydrous magnesium silicate, and varies in color from pale yellow to yellow-green with spots or veins of black, and has a hardness from 3 to 5.

Serpentine comes from various places throughout the world, but this yellow serpentine comes from Nevada and is good rough for cabbing.

The name Serpentine, comes from its color and mottled scaly appearance from the Latin "serpentinus," meaning serpent rock, and may refer to the belief that this stone is a cure for snake-bite.

Metaphysically speaking, serpentine is known for awakening the kundalini, working for the greater good, balancing emotions and past lives.  It is said to be protective against snakebites and poisons, eliminates parasitic infections, helps with calcium and magnesium assimilation, replenishes energy and treats diabetes and hypoglycemia.

Zebra Stone

Zebra Stone, also called zebra marble, is actually layers of black and white dolomitic marble, giving it the striped appearance.  It is a beautiful stone that takes a nice high polish and has a hardness of 6 to 7.

This Zebra stone comes from Utah and is great rough for cabbing.

The name Zebra Stone visibly comes from the black and white striped patterns, which are very distinct and imitate the stripes of a zebra.

Metaphysically speaking, Zebra Stone is known to bring compassion and understanding for others, helps to see beyond the superficial and know the loving spirit that exists inside.  It is said to help stimulate energy, stamina and endurance, and encourages us to just enjoy the experience of living - now.  It is also used to treat bone, teeth and gum issues, as well as vitamin deficiencies, muscle spasms and heart palpitations.
