Millefiori is Italian for "mille", meaning “thousand“ and "fiori" meaning “flowers“.  It is a glassmaking method, originating in Murano, Italy, which creates distinctive decorative patterns in glassware.  The Millefiori technique is a labor intense process where each item is individually handmade, so no two are alike.
